Thomas Thaddeus “Tommy” Nowicki, age 81, of Toledo, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Ebeid Hospice, Sylvania. He was born January 9, 1940 in Toledo, OH to Thaddeus and Louise (Orlowicz) Nowicki. Tommy was a Veteran of the Army National Guard and the US Air Force. A graduate of Macomber High School and Ohio State University, he began his employment career at Sun Tool where he worked for 8 years, and later was a process engineer at GM Powertrain for 33 years, retiring in 2000. He was a skilled handyman who excelled at both woodworking and electrical work. He was a member of the UAW, the F.O.E. Aerie 197, and the Moose Lodge 1579 in Sylvania. He was a former parishioner of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, and a current member of Regina Coeli Church.
Tommy is survived by his wife, Lois Ann (Matuszewski) Nowicki; adopted son, Daniel Nowicki; stepdaughters, Christine Case, Victoria Case, and Candace (Larry) Godlewski; brother, Timothy (Terry) Nowicki; daughter-in-law, Marsha Case; step-grandchildren, Corey Case, Samantha and Jason Maddox; and step great-grandchildren, Harper and Mason Maddox. Also surviving are his nephew, Paul Nowicki; niece, Jill (Brian) Golatka; great-niece, Madison Golatka; and cousin, Robert Nowicki. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Joyce (Glessner) Nowicki; infant son, Brian Nowicki; and stepson, Philip Case.
The Funeral Mass will be Monday, May 10 at 11 a.m. in Regina Coeli Catholic Church, 530 Regina Pkwy. The VFW 606 Burial Corps will conclude with Military Honors at the church. Interment will be at a later date in Resurrection Cemetery.
