Robert Thomas Zielinski

Robert Thomas “Bob” Zielinski, 88, of Temperance, MI and formerly of Waybridge Rd. in Toledo passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 2, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 12, 1933 in Toledo, OH to Stanley and Mary (Andrzejewski) Zielinski. Bob was a graduate of Nativity Catholic Grade School and Libbey High School, Class of 1951”, and a Veteran of the US Army. He was employed as a sales associate for DuPont for 16 years, and as an insurance agent for Metropolitan Life for 36 years, retiring in 1998. An avid traveler throughout his life, Bob enjoyed vacationing in Brimley, MI in the Upper Peninsula, cruises to Alaska and Maine, and traveling to all four corners of the US. He loved gardening and visiting with family and friends over a cold beer. He also enjoyed collecting and listening to records, especially polkas. He was a longtime parishioner of Regina Coeli Catholic Church.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Betty (Berezowski) Zielinski in 1970; wife Liena “Lee” (Humbarger) Zielinski in 2011; brothers, Frank, Floyd “Half”, Felix “James”, and Chester Zielinski; and sister, Gertrude Kubicz. Survivors include his daughters, Sr. Mary Zielinski SGL and Laura A. Zielinski; and many nieces and nephews.

 Visitation will be Friday, January 7 from 3-7 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd.  Interment will be at a later date in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to ProMedica Hospice, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s.
