Rita Marie Brewer, age 78, of Monclova, OH and formerly of Perryville, MO passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 24, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 3, 1943 in Toledo, OH to Thomas and Helen (Boyd) Glynn. Rita worked for MedCor at Mercy St. Vincent Hospital, Acklin Stamping, and Brewer Tree Service which she co-owned and operated with her husband William Brewer for over 20 years. Rita was a member of the Cousino Club, the Eagles, and the Elks. She was a devoted wife and mother who cherished her family and friends, and whose children always came first. She enjoyed Scrabble Thursdays with her daughter LeAnn, and bowling with her husband and good friends, Kay and Jim Williams and Karen and Tom Anderson. She also enjoyed pitching horseshoes, playing euchre and league shuffleboard at the Cousino Club (her favorite hangout), scratch-off lotto tickets, and gambling at the casino. In her later years, she loved watching boxing and daytime gameshows on the television.
Rita is survived by her daughter, LeAnn (Norman) Zavela; son, Ken Null; grandchildren, Joseph W. Hoag Sr., Stephanie Hornsby, and Courtney Null; great-grandchildren, Joseph Jr., Alizabeth, Lilly, Olivia, Aubree, Averiee, and Evan; and goddaughter, Jessica Hoag. Also surviving are stepchildren, Bonnie, Annette, Melissa, and William Jr., sisters, Catherine (Brad) Hoag and Cheryl Glynn; and brothers, Patrick (Mary Lou), Edwin (Kit), Frederick (Chrissy)) and Steven (Joe) Glynn. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Brewer in 2012; grandson, Jeffrey James Hoag Jr.; stepdaughter, Sheri Hinz; sisters, Elizabeth, Marlene, and Judy; and brothers, Thomas, William, Michael, and Paul Glynn.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 30 from 3-8 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 East Alexis Rd. The funeral service will take place Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with Chaplain Dale Katcher presiding. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens.
