Ramon Rex Bell, age 80, of Toledo passed away Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio’s Toledo facility surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 11, 1941 in Toledo, Ohio to Roy and Evelyn (Bick) Bell. Ramon graduated from Rogers High School and worked at GM Powertrain for 40 years, retiring in 1999. He loved riding his bike and he was a huge fan of the Cleveland Indians. While working at GM, his coworkers knew him as “Sam”, which was a tribute to Indians pitcher Sam McDowell. Ramon was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, and a man of strong faith. He was a longtime parishioner of Regina Coeli Catholic Church and member of the church’s Holy Name Society.
Ramon married Caroline (Lohman) Bell on May 8, 1965. She survives along with their daughter, Brenda (Michael) Geremski; son, Steven Bell; grandchildren, Erin (Alan) Wood, Colin Bell, and Kendra Bell; Ramon’s sister, Dolores Davies; and brothers, Roger and Gene (Jackie) Bell. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Thomas Bell; and brothers, John and Jerry Bell.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 28 from 4-8 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. with a rosary led by members of the Holy Name Society at 7 p.m. Funeral services will begin Friday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home and continue with the Funeral Mass in Regina Coeli Church at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
