Philip Charles “Phil” Lutheran, age 81, of Toledo, passed away peacefully at home under the care of Ohio Living Hospice on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 22, 1941 in Cleveland, OH to Joseph and Helen (Haberek) Lutheran. A graduate of Macomber High School and a Veteran of the US Army, he worked for the Jeep Corporation at the Stickney Avenue Plant for 17 years, retiring in 2011 and before that at City Auto Stamping and Tillotson Carburetor. Phil was a talented “Jack of all trades” and a generous man who would do anything for anyone. An avid camper and the best story-teller, he enjoyed coin collecting, especially for his grandchildren, playing bingo at both St. James and St. Michael parishes, and was a huge OSU fan.
Philip is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Lillian (Miller) Lutheran; children, Susan (Bruce) Crawford, Ronald Michalak, Wayne (Linda) Michalak, and Michelle (James Carr) Lutheran; brothers, John (Wanda) and Mike (Pat) Lutheran; 14 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Christina Lutheran.
Visitation will be Monday, November 21 from 2-6 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. The Funeral Service will begin at 6 p.m. with Fr. Martin Nassr presiding. The VFW 606 Burial Corps will conclude with Military Honors at the funeral home.
