Mary Lucille Knapik, age 89, of Perrysburg and formerly of Clover Ridge Ct., Toledo passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 3, 1931 in Toledo, OH to Roman and Helen (Antkowiak) Massimino. A 1949 graduate of Libbey High School, Mary worked at Champion Spark Plug for 20 years, and as a secretary for General Foods Corporation for 8 years. She was a member of the Toledo Area Polka Society and the International Music Association. Mary loved cooking and baking and was known for her wonderful placzek, and porkchops with onions. She also enjoyed trips to the casinos with family and friends. She was a former parishioner of Regina Coeli Catholic Church and St. Clement Catholic Church.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Terry Lynn Knapik; son, Rick Knapik (Kristy Morgenstern); son-in-law, Steve Keller; grandchildren, Scott (Deena) Keller, Jamie (John) Price, Dana Knapik, Kristi (Habib) Howard, Eric (Jessica) Knapik, and Tony Batey (Nimet Ozbay); and great-grandchildren, Carli, Lucas, Aubrey, Avery, Rylan, Michael, Ellie, Emma, and Nolan. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Stanley Knapik; son, Gary Knapik; grandson Gary Allen Knapik; and daughter, Sandy Keller.
Visitation will be Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd., with a scripture service at 6 p.m. Funeral services will begin Monday at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home and continue with the Funeral Mass in St. Clement Church at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery. Those attending visitation and services are asked to wear a facial covering and respect social distancing guidelines.
