Joyce Marie Kinnear, age 92, of Toledo’s Point Place Community passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at the Goerlich Center, Sylvania. She was born September 24, 1930 in Toledo, OH to John and Inez (Cherry) Kunselman. She was employed as a waitress at the Pagoda Inn (now the Golden City) for 27 years, and as a crossing guard for Ottawa River School for 7 years, retiring in 2002. Joyce was an excellent cook and loving homemaker. An avid camper, she enjoyed trips to the Toonerville Junction Campground in Luckey, OH with her husband Jim. She also enjoyed crocheting and word puzzles. She was a former member of Riverpoint Ministries United Methodist Church.
Joyce is survived by her children, James (Julie) Kinnear and Kathleen (Jeffrey) Kaiser; grandchildren, John (Shumiala) Kinnear, Joseph (Charline) Kinnear, Jeffrey Kaiser Jr., and Katelyn (Elise) Kaiser-Trissel; step-grandchildren, Dale and Steve (Lynn) Yarnboon; and beloved sister, Janice Coman. She was preceded in death by her parents; and by her husband, Alexander “Jim” Kinnear on March 1, 2012.
Family and friends may gather on Tuesday, April 18 from 1-2 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. The committal service will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
