John David Kaminski

John David Kaminski passed away peacefully on February 24, 2023 at Toledo Hospital at 4:31 a.m. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on September 28,1937 to Ruth (Wisniewski) and John Kaminski (Stone). John David was a loving and nurturing husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who always went above and beyond for his family and the ones he loved. He never missed an opportunity to be there in support of those who needed him.

John David was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and nature. He was a scoutmaster for troop 20 and was affiliated with Boys Scouts of America for over 50 years. He faithfully attended St. Catherine of Sienna Parish being a devoted servant of the Catholic religion. John David worked for Gulf Oil and retired from Marathon Oil. He spent his retirement caring for his wife of 54 years Carol (Iwinski), spending precious time with his family and friends, relaxing in his recliner, watching his favorite westerns, and enjoying a bowl of rocky road ice cream to end the night. In his lasts days he was surrounded by his loving family of which he was so thankful for. 

John David is survived by his 8 children: J.D., Anne, James, William, Dennis, Phillip, Mary, and Linda Kaminski. His 13 grandchildren: J.D. III (Allie), Josh (Amy), Joshua (Sam), James II (Jesse), Stacey, Andrew (Cheryl), Stephanie (Dan), Thomas (Ally), LeeAnne, Cordellia (Kyle) Haleigh, DeeAnna and Gabriel, along with his 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceeded in death by his beloved wife Carol, his parents Ruth and John, his younger brother Paul, his granddaughter Sara, and his great grandson Logan. 

Visitation will be Friday, March 3 from 12-7 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd., concluding with a rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral services will begin Saturday at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home and continue with the Funeral Mass in St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church at 10 a.m.  Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
