James Richard Schaublin

  James Richard “Jim” Schaublin, age 91, formerly of Linda Drive, Toledo passed away on Friday, April 30. 2021 at Sunset Village, Sylvania surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born on October 12, 1929 in Lima, OH to Rufus and Inez (Danner) Schaublin. A US Army Veteran, he was employed as a Certified Public Accountant for Owens Illinois for 22 years, retiring in 1989, and before that for Arthur Young and Co.  Jim was a longtime active parishioner of Regina Coeli Catholic Church where he served as an Usher. He also volunteered for Mobile Meals. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he loved traveling and spending time with his family.

  Jim was preceded in death by his parents and three infant children. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Elizabeth “Betty” (Goller) Schaublin (married June 21, 1958); children, Linda (James) Kettinger, Beth (Jeff) Miller, and Michael (Evelyn) Schaublin; 12 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

  The Funeral Mass for Jim will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in Regina Coeli Catholic Church, 530 Regina Parkway, preceded by visitation at the church from 10- 11 a.m. The immediate family only will meet after the luncheon for interment with Military Honors led by the VFW 606 Burial Corps in Resurrection Cemetery.
