Irene Veneva Miller, age 102, of Toledo, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at Kingston of Sylvania. She was born August 3, 1919 in Bloomer Twp., MI to Henry and Ella (Burtraw) Rich. Irene graduated from Carson City High School in Carson City, MI, attended business school, and worked as a bookkeeper for Preferred Auto Insurance in Grand Rapids, MI before marrying Donald Ward Miller and devoting her life to caring for her home and family. She and her husband Donald were snowbirds for many years, spending November thru April in Florida. Irene loved playing Bingo with her friends at Kingston where she was affectionately known as “Miss Winner”. She was a member of Trilby United Methodist Church.
Irene is survived by her daughter, Susan Miller of Phoenix, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; daughter, Sally Martin; sister, Mildred; and brothers, Don, Louis, Howard, and Benjamin.
Those wishing to pay their respects to Irene are invited to meet at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd., Toledo for a brief service on Thursday, May 5 at 7 p.m. The committal service will be Friday at 12 noon in New Haven Cemetery, 9364 West Buchanan Rd, Sumner, MI 48889.
