Gerald “Jerry” passed away at home on January 12, 2022. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on February 4, 1953. Jerry always showed courage in facing any of life’s challenges with a smile and determination. Despite his struggles he had a fighting spirit until the end. If you asked 100 different people who Gerald A. “Jerry” Gerasimiak was, they’d all give you a different story. He was a fisherman, a master mechanic, a wine maker, and a chef in his own right. Jerry was the proud business owner of Gary’s Garage Door Company passed down by his parents, Paul and Sophie (Janowiak) Gerasimiak. He carried on the family company with great pride and honor. “His Customers” were always one of his top priorities.
The simplest pleasures of life brought great joy to Jerry. Some of his most cherished memories were ice fishing with his family, and time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jerry never missed a beat. One of his greatest joys was going to the casino with the love of his life Cris, sharing many of his lucky stories.
Jerry leaves behind to honor his memory children, Tracy and Paul Lohmeyer; “bonus daughter”, Angie (Joe) Eccleston; grandchildren, Heaven (Greg) Lohmeyer, Tyler (Kate) Lohmeyer, and Evan (Tori) Eccleston, great-grandchildren, Luna, Landyn, and Jevaun; and nieces, Amy and Sarah Gerasimiak. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Theodore Gerasimiak.
