Florence Theresa Ivan

Florence (Marchewka) Ivan, died at age 93 on January 7, 2021 due to Covid 19. She was born October 12, 1927 in Toledo, OH to Walter and Mary (Walkowiak) Marchewka. Florence worked at her parent’s business, Junction Garage on Nebraska Ave. for many of her earlier years. She was a parishioner of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church for 55 years and former president of their St. Vincent De Paul Society. She was also a member of various Polish Societies, the St. Hyacinth Senior Group, and a lifetime member of BVYC. She resided in Alexis Gardens-Toledo. Florence and husband Joe were avid world travelers. She enjoyed attending various social gatherings and went on over 50 cruises. Her hobbies included crafts and playing cards. She also loved football and was a longtime devoted Notre Dame fan.

Survivors include daughters, Adele (Timothy) Luczak-Lambertville, MI and Jacqueline Creek-Defiance, OH; son, Lawrence (Laura) Ivan-Taylor, MI; brother-in-law, Robert Ivan-Dayton, OH; Sister-in-law, Nancy Ivan-Wentzville, MO; Grandchildren: Julia (Sean) Frazier, Paul (Heather) Ivan, Mark (Sarah) Luczak, Greg (Amanda) Ivan, Rachel (Doug) Adams, and Ashla (Anthony) Bird; 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; and loving godchild, Danny (Gay) Miller.   Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Ivan; brother, Roman (Mary Ellen) Marchewka; sister, Cecelia (Cas) Orlowski; and brother-in-law, Leslie Ivan.

Showing will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 420 Sandusky St. Toledo on Tuesday, Jan 12th starting at 9:30 a.m. with Mass at 11:00. Burial will follow at Toledo Memorial Park, 6382 Monroe St. Sylvania, Ohio.

Due to Covid 19, facial coverings and social distancing are required.

In lieu of flowers, suggested contributions may be made to St. Michaels Church restoration fund, the Social Action Fund for the Poor, or to the non-profit organization of your choice.
