Obituary

Daniel Stanley Dobrzykowski, age 96, formerly of Toledo, OH, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 2, 2023 in Fayetteville, Arkansas surrounded by his loving family.  He was born October 16, 1926 to Stanley and Antoinette (Kasperzak) Dobrzykowski.  As a boy, Daniel enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing with his good friend, Benny.  Daniel was a graduate of Macomber High School and a Veteran of the United States Navy, serving proudly during WWII in the Philippine Islands.  Daniel was sent by the Navy to Purdue University, where he was trained as an electrician.  He began his career at Jeep before working for General Motors for 31 years.  Daniel was always committed to helping his family, so after retirement, he became a courier for House of Type where he worked with his wife, Patricia, and later at Toledo Medical Imaging with his son, David.  He was also a member of the American Legion Przybylski Post 642.  Daniel was an avid golfer who achieved a hole-in-one at both Valley Wood and Giant Oak Golf Courses. He played golf well into his 80s, and enjoyed his weekly foursome with Casey, Felix and Coco.  He was a true family man who enjoyed bowling in ‘Ma and Pa’ Leagues with his wife, Patricia, coaching his son, David’s Baseball teams, sharing WWII stories with his grandsons, David Jr. and Adam, and family cookouts where everyone would come together.  One of his favorite family activities was the annual vacation in St. Pete Beach and Treasure Island, Florida, where ‘Dangerous Dan’ was known to swim the entire length of the beach in the Gulf of Mexico and enjoy his wife’s Manhattans at the Mariner Beach Club.  A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he will be dearly missed.

Daniel is survived by his wife of 71 years, Patricia (Grycza) Dobrzykowski; son, David (Sarah) Dobrzykowski; and grandsons, David Jr. and Adam Dobrzykowski.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Delphine Breske.

Visitation will be on Sunday, May 7 from 4-7 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E.
