Charmaine Marie Frances Napierala, age 93, of Toledo’s Point Place community passed away Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Arbors at Oregon surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 25, 1929 in Point Place to Orton and Frances (Kellermeier) Orton Lazette. Charmaine was baptized, received first communion, and was married at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She was confirmed at Our Lady Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral. She graduated from Whitney Vocational High School in 1947 and worked at Lasalles Department Store from age 15 to 21 years. She also worked as the office manager for Napierala Insurance Agency on Lewis Ave.
Charmaine met her husband, Floyd Napierala when they were 14 years old. They were married at age 21 and enjoyed 53 years as man and wife before his passing at age 73. Surviving are their two sons, Paul (Sally) Napierala and Chris Napierala who cared for Charmaine when she could no longer care for herself; and two cherished grandchildren, Allison (Zach) Maiden and son Vann, and Michael Napierala. Also surviving are her godchildren, Colleen Kwiatkowski and Phil Lazette; former sister-in-law and dear friend, Bea Rupley; and many greatly loved nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Floyd, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Patricia Curtis, Rita Rowland, Frances Blank, and Raymond Lazette.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 8 from 3-7 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. The funeral service will begin at 7 p.m. in the funeral home with Deacon James Dudley presiding. Inurnment will be at a later date in Resurrection Cemetery.
